Aida Zhakhanbek is a dombra (Kazakh folk string instrument) player, singer and improviser from Kazakhstan. She has been learning Kazakh folk music as well as Classical music since childhood. She also plays Kazakh folk instruments including jetigen, sazsyrnai, shankobyz, kylkobyz and percussion in the ethno-folk duo Kos arna and enjoys exploring different musical traditions and styles.
